This is the LawTube thread. I'm making it so people stop shitting up the Nick Rekieta thread with discussion about people who are not Nick Rekieta or appearing on his show.

If someone wants to write a better OP, please feel free to do so.

Current controversy seems to be that Legal Bytes called out The DUI Guy who was in the Amber Heard trial audience because he made a shocked face when someone on the stand said something shocking and he wasn't allowed in the courtroom the next day. I don't know. I'm probably leaving a lot out of that story since I don't really know the people involved.

EDIT:
May want to change Beginning of the 3rd Paragraph. It wasn't just LegalBytes but also Hoeg Law and Law & Lumber who were there for the "Official" announcement.

Also apparently some web site wrote an article about lawtubers and included Rekieta, but Rekieta did not want to be on such a list and asked to be taken off. Again, I probably got that half wrong.

"I don't like the term 'lawtube!'" Okay, well, it's what people are using to refer to this group of people. If you have a better name for it, feel free to propose one.

"Lawtube isn't a real thing!" See above.

Not sure this will blow up into full blown lolcow drama but it's certainly heading there.

The central shit-plosion of lolcowery will erupt post-Depp decision. Once this celebrity and media-driven case is gone, its back to niche criminal or LOLsuits which will not have the number of viewers, subs and superchats to be sustainable. As the money/attention dries up, the various lawyers that tried to jump on and ride the gravy train without setting up their own audience (like Nick has) will all be scrabbling to hold onto to whatever dwindling resources they can. The added stress of that will strain their circular parasitism and send the usual greed of simpery into overdrive, driving the pressure into the red. Even money is on either Hoeg/Kurt going full incel meltdown or Alyta trying to channel Evil Bitch Queen with a play to solidify her power that causes the massive explosion of drama.

Should be funny either way though.

I put it in Multimedia instead of one of the lolcow forums. We can petition the jannies to move it if and when it becomes necessary.

This shit will be done in a week.
(I thought corona was going to be a month and I'm still working from home.)
Once they realize people arent going to give a shit because they dont have an audience, they'll fold. Rackets has spent years building an audience, same with Emily Baker. All these other people hopped on the bandwagon during Depp, or have been leeching off of Rackets and Baker after Rittenhouse.

Some of these lawyers were doing their thing with small audiences before the Depp trial, like Joe Nierman or Kurt. I remember Joe pulling in audiences as low as 25-50 viewers while streaming almost every night. That's probably not sustainable, but I expect some of these tubers to at least do better than they did pre-Depp. If they can pull in a few hundred talking about cases similar to Derek Chauvin, Kyle Rittenhouse, Kim Potter, Ghislaine Maxwell, or Alec Baldwin, that could be sustainable.

Looking at Hoeg Law, he has covered a lot of gaming and copyright stuff, like Epic v. Apple and Activision Blizzard. He doesn't need a "Lawtube" to do that. I don't know the details of his meltdown though. Was it just simping for LegalBytes and generally being centrist or something else?

It appears to be something else. There was an incident during one of the streams where a Superchat got misread and appeared someone was making "lawtube" merch and he got in a huff about who owns the "Lawtube" shit, @Count Cumia could probably provide more details to find it? Also Uncivil law made a whole video about how "Lawtube" is not a thing which if it wasn't then why was Hoeg mad about other people selling merch?

So on the Day 22 LB stream is when the incident occurs initially at 6:34:00 ish Hoeg's got his mouth open like a fish. But then at around 7:09:00 Uncivil has them do a replay and LB and Hoeg just kind of look perturbed and they move on real quick. Then Hoeg and Law and lumber joined Alyte the next day to explain the situation with DUIGuy.

It just seems like LegalBytes and Hoeg were hoping to get something more out of this than subscribers, especially after "Lawtube" was making the rounds in news sources.

Legal Bytes is reportedly copy striking re-uploads of the apology video she deleted. :story:

Curious if the person just did an upload or added commentary to it.

Edit: There is another one up for now it plays music over the first 4:44.

But upon watching the "apology" again she talks about protecting "Lawtube" and such. It couldn't be a coincidence that she took the video down and then Uncivil made the "There is no Lawtube" video.

The (reupload) tag suggests it did not have any commentary. She's a flaggot either way. It's obvious the DMCA takedown is about protecting her brand, rather than any lost revenue as there isn't going to be any on a deleted video.

This looks like the kind of controversy a small channel can build an audience off of.

Yea found the video on Bitchute for a bunch of people wanting to let the Drama go they sure do shit to keep the pot stirred.

Joe ran a stream late into the night tonight. Rekieta and Nate showed up about halfway through. They were discussing the drama. All agreed to lawtube just being a group of lawyers streaming with each other for their own benefits and growth. They also touched on sustaining these audiences after massive growth with these high profile trials.

It was also said that after Rekieta left the Twitter group chat for “lawtube” that was renamed by someone in the group after Rittenhouse (they didn’t drop specific names) that LegalBytes and DUI left shortly after without words.

The jew wanted to grift lawtube, and pushed for Nick to take on a leadership role and gatekeep to prevent anyone with a J.D. and a cell phone from calling themselves lawtube. Nick had no interest in either, and the lawtube group chat of 15-20 people they used for networking expanded to 40+ when an unnamed person kept inviting more and more people in because there was no one willing to tell them no.

Nick ranting about the consent and release forms for these portraits.

At approximately 32 minutes in, Viva Frei mentions that he does not want to get into 'Lawtube drama'. Robert Barnes proceeds to then imply he doesn't trust DUI guy's ethics (yes, I know that'll be very funny to many people here). He repeats what LegalBimbo said that officers of the court had a problem with DUI Guy's behavior. No evidence of this, still, just like LB. Apparently Eric Hunley did a lawtube stream and I wouldn't be surprised if it was repeated there.

You watch, there's going to be a Barnes Vs bytes showdown for control of "lawtube" eventually.

It's kind of sad that Viva is hitched to Barnes so firmly now. He's going to end up sullied by proxy.
