My line of thought is - basically, they are hooked on "drugs", drugs that are more dangerous than narcotics because you cannot overdose on them (and you will become a hollow husk of a person, with few emotions inside you). One of them being anger and rage, enough to commit murder, losing self control to think about consequences of your actions. While a drug addict depend on the type of the person going through the withdrawl, it would need to be a violent one to be like that (say, Austin Peterson/BossManJack willing to kill his brother to smoke crack).

And we are going to witness many other murders of "strange cases" where it will be blamed on "incelism", "shut in males", and many other culprits.
