I found Mauler's videos and EFAP recently, mostly just listened to the clip channel while playing vidya or working. I was kinda shocked to learn how they handle superchats. That has got to be the most Jewish way of doing superchats I've ever seen aside from just not reading them, god damn. I can't decide if EFAP is retarded for discouraging superchats because they're gonna take weeks to read them, or if the audience who STILL donates anyway is more retarded.

They used to handle them normally back when they started, but the core of their show they spent hours on and they had to rush through less relevant superchats at the end so some got relegated to the next episode, they also kept missed ones intended for guests until the guest came back to a later episode. And eventually to their own subepisode.
They kinda did it to themselves with not being able to contain their ranting. Their earlier episodes were easily 8-10 hours, and when they started scaling back and having 5-6 hour long episodes tons of people were complaining they were short. As for superchats, they just never really adapted a podcast format into a stream with live donations.

At this point I think Patrician TV has just replaced Mauler's niche.
Nah, that guy does gaming videos.
MauLer's replacement is Little Platoon.
He makes the same kind of overly edited 3 hour videos about big budget Hollywood slop and has the same kind of monotone voice with a British accent.
MauLer showed some brains by recruiting him for EFAP and attaching himself to his replacement.

I was shocked that this thing is still around and they still rake in decent enough donos on their streams and views on their clip channel. Anyone have a theory of the case for why there's still a big market for "New big capeshit/franchiseslop is bad" content? Really blows my mind how formulaic their stuff is. I thought the new Superman movie was good, not great, and like clockwork I get some EFAP clip in my reccomended tab with some insanley hyperbolic title like "Superman was worse than bad, it's REALLY bad"

Who are the people that gobble this shit up? Do they consume any media other than fat faggots like Mauler and his league of discord degenerates saying they didn't like a movie because of some nebulously defined "objective reason"?

I think it's to capitalize on the bad (Disney Star Wars/ post-Endgame MCU). While it is low hanging fruit and easy to rip on it that's all they got. Even if it's decent, they still have to say it's the worst thing (Mandalorian, Fallout TV show, Deadpool and Wolverine). If anything, it's for people who believe themselves above the fray, not easily swayed because pleasing the crowd is apparently "key jangling".

I'd take watching a bad, even mediocore movie over watching a minute of these absolute morons who's understanding of storytelling is completely underpinned by reddit-tier plothole hunting. Like seriously not every story ever is going to be 100% airtight and consistent, J.R.R. Tolkien famously would seethe when people asked him why they didn't just take the eagles to Mt. Doom in book one. Because yah, obviously writers fuck
up and include inconsistencies in their stories sometimes, that doesn't automatically disqualify them. I had my problems with Superman, but I'm sure their criticisms are as inane as that because it's not really woke enough for them to rag on it for that.

Which is why RLM is still going strong and EFAP can only rely on a shrinking audience of sycophants.

Probably because the Nazgul could just knock them out of the air or it would immediately alert Sauron. The biggest weakness with their obsession with plotholes is not their obsession with them, but the idea that they and their impact on the audience's suspension of disbelief is something that can be objectively quantified. Of course, they're also dealing with some of the lowest common denominator slop and it does tend to be riddled with glaring plotholes that defy easy explanation (vanishing lightsabers mid-fight in TLJ for example), but the moment they go outside of that wheelhouse problem of trying to analyze everything like that becomes self-evident.

Yah exactly, they treat plotholes like this silver bullet that immediately unravels a narrative and makes it "objectively" shit. I'm imagining them doing an EFAP on The Odyssey "Pfft, and then Odysseus, who's supposed to be making *Groan* 'The Odyssey' back to his wife and kid, who are fending off these guys trying to fuck her, spends 7 years hanging out on an island with this insufferable girlboss mary sue character Calypso"

It's only a matter of time before they talk about Fantastic Four this weekend.
Okay I subjected myself to self harm and actually listened to this. I forgot how fucking autistic these guys are. Look I'm not saying it was a masterpiece, probably a 6-7/10 at best, but to act like this thing is a 1 or 2 out of ten because the Supervillian had a black hole generator in the super hero movie is maybe the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

These tards are utterly joyless, its like capeshit is this serious business that needs to be poe faced and grounded and "objectively" consistent with whatever nonsense standards these literal 30+ year old manchildren are screaming about over the computer.

Lighten up, it's okay that the bad guy is crazy and stupid in a superhero movie and he has worldbreaking technology, that's baked in to the equation here, if I'm being honest the pocket dimension kind of the best part of the movie because it sets the tone as a world that's more whimsical and strange, what a novel concept for a movie about an Alien who wears underwear and flies to strike. It bears repeating, these faggots HATE everything, and I'm not saying there isn't slop, I'm not even saying Superman isn't also slop, but lighten the hell up, the popcorn blockbuster comic book movie being fantastical and kind of dumb isn't that deep.

I forget what video it was, I think the 28 Years Later one. But Fringy had this super cringy doomer speech about how modern movies are dead because the Superman movie was "going" to suck. It honestly kinda astounded me because he sounded so buck broken over a capeshit movie possibly sucking. Mauler said similar shit but less dramatic. Like it was the death of media lmfao.

Yeah the Gunn Superman movie has a lot of problems but it's perfectly okay. Not great, but fine. I really like some MCU shit, but these retards expect all capeshit to be incredible. Like motherfucker these are movies about people in capes beating up bad guys. I knew they'd go in wanting to hate it so I totally skipped their review and Superman was fine when I went in mostly blind. Too many "critics" forget what cautious optimism is.

Well that's the other thing, I hate that horsefucker YMS, but he made a good point when he said they think the film industry is only producing woke slop because it's the only thing they consume and don't even try to expand their horizons to anything other than capeshit, video games, and adaptations of capeshit. It's not a bountiful harvest of absolute cinema, but outside of tentpole blockbuster releases there are, y'know movies that don't revolve around established and trademarked characters that exist soley to sell toys and DQ Blizzards. I couldn't tell you the last time they talked about one that wasn't that on EFAP.

Like it really beggars belief for me that their media diet is almost exclusively blockbuster dreck and twitter. I'm not saying it's a masterpiece (I haven't seen it yet), but do you think these manchildren will watch and review Eddington? Do you believe that if they did they'd even be able to articulate any kind of coherent and relevant criticism that isn't basically just rambling nitpicking about details of the plot? They're not fit to make arguements about any movie that is operating above a 5th grader's scope of comprehension, nor criticisms that are deeper than a really annoying know-it all 5th grader picking apart minor plot-holes that don't detract from the themes of a movie.

What is a non-capeshit/Star Wars/Lord of the Rings movie any of them have even talked about much less praised?

Exactly. If all you coomsume is capeshit or Hollywood slop of course you're gonna have a bad time. I saw The Substance last year but it also came out last year and really liked it, still do. I still stumble across old cinema I might've missed that I enjoy when I see it. Same with vidya or books or whatever, there's a wealth of shit to find if you're looking for good shit. I think these guys are too monetarily dependent on the doomer take. And to be fair what caught my attention from their channel was them tearing apart MCU slop but like you said, they're so into slop when it doesn't blow their minds they freak the the fuck out.

I think that part of it is that there's too much financial incentive to just tear into, what I'm full agreement with them are bad movies. And that if there's anything positive it's not enough that outweighs the bad, or it's comparing a positive from some other capeshit slop they like as somehow demonstrating how this other thing is worse.

But I genuinely think it's outside their capacity to even consume a film that doesn't involve lightsabers, Hobbits, or superheros. They talk about Hollywood like it's Hollywood Circa 1970s, except without any New Hollywood alums to pick up the pieces. The way they talk about Jurrassic Park and Superman is borderline millenarian, as if corporate slop being mid is some grave indictment of the creative capacity of our culture. Off the top of my head some of the most interesting (if not always perfect 10/10) movies I saw over the last two years: Challengers, The Substance, The Apprentice, Beau is Afraid, Dream Scenario, etc. Hell that's just the stuff that isn't written with a retarded guy in mind as the prospective audience member, there are more amazing dumb guy action movies being produced nowadays than ever, The Beekeeper and Flight Risk kick ass.

It's literally outside their capacity to even Enjoy Jason Statham Beating up not-Hunter Biden, or Marky Mark maniacly relating how he's going to rape and murder Topher Grace on a runaway Cesna. Sad.
