Manga in general is still better than whatever DC or Marvel is doing right now. When was the last time that comic sales in the US was an all-time high?

Too bad the clowns don't know the term "karoshi" and how it affects mangakas like Miura. I'd rather respect the work of someone who's dedicated to their work until the end than some colored-haired LGBT + freak who lectures their audience with their "holier-than-thou" personality for a quick buck to the point that no one buys their comics and then blame their audience when it fails.

Even without the wokery and 5.5 going over like the hindenburg, no way could WOTC keep the momentum going.

5e was at the perfect storm of newbie-friendly design, aimed at a college-aged demographic with the disposable income and the free time needed to play a game. It was backed by a large company with the resources necessary to do an advertizing blitz, and just so happened to be a preferred system of a number of nich-but-loved voice actors who decided to start a tabletop livestream right as longform streaming content was taking off, and then 5 years or so into the system's lifespan we all got locked in our homes with nothing to do but watch longform livestreams.

Then the original designers left, WOTC tried to rewrite their open game license to screw over third party designers, which caused those popular voice actors to switch to other systems, WOTC got caught using AI generated art assets which did not go over well with their audience. They revived a bunch of old properties, but flubbed the feel, ironically exposing new players to the older material that they didn't need to give WOTC money to get their hands on. OSR and PBtA/CitD has made it easier than ever for creators and designers to slap their work onto a playable system and get it in front of potential audiences. And the fairweather fans have moved on to whatever the newest Big Fad is.
