Recently people on xitter were shitting on him for collaborating with Hillary Clinton with him repeatedly trying to deflect. Even if he doesn’t personally agree with or admire Hillary, it was still really bad optics for someone trying to be critical of the establishment.

The most "collaboration" he ever did with Hillary was to vote for her once in 2016.
Don't take my word for it though. Just based on material facts and timeline perspective it doesn't work. Nick wasn't famous enough to warrant Hillary dealing with him during Hillary's campaign. He was very much an emerging talent throughout 2016.

I was thinking about The Parrott and his love of Nabokov recently. I too am a big Nabokov fan. Despite his famous flowery prose, big Vlad has always struck me as a very masculine writer. As ornate as his writing is, it looks as if he worked it out mathematically first. It always feels like the work of a brilliant brain rather than an overflowing heart. Futhermore, his stories are typically not emotional affairs and every paragraph teeters on a fart joke, in the most verbose upper class kind of way.

It'd be interesting to know the male to female ratio of Nabokov lovers. I suspect the ratio would be similar to that of Radiohead or Hitomi Tanaka fans. He just seems to me to be an extremely male-brained writer.

What I was referring to is the docu-series “Gutsy” in which Hillary and Chelsea Clinton meet with women artists/activists/etc., and one of those people was Contra himself. Obviously he isn’t a woman so it kinda defeats the entire point of the show. Lol.

This is what we call lying in the bed that you made. Nick intentionally courted an audience of these people, got rich and famous off of them, and now wants to act like he's such a poor victim of their bad faith smears as if he wasn't fine with this kind of behavior as long as he wasn't the one on the receiving end. He was always a milquetoast neoliberal shilling for the DNC establishment but he rose to public prominence by lying and pretending to be an edgy subversive radical and its funny to see actual leftists finally start calling him out on it.

Just this week he put out a bizarre tweet apparently trying to minimize the death toll on Gaza then immediately gaslights in another tweet saying that isn't what he's doing leading to leftist accounts accusing him of being a genocide apologist because he probably is. The meme of him slowly morphing into Netanyahu made me laugh I must admit.

She's part of the neolib establishment. Far-leftists don't like the Democratic Party in general, so Contra being someone who supposedly severely differs from the establishment acting all buddy-buddy with one of its biggest stooges was super hypocritical.

Socialism and Fascism aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, and I do find it weird Marxists think this is the case. They seem to have this belief that socialism was invented by Marx (it wasn't), or a non-socialist can not adopt socialistic views. Marx spent an entire section in the Communist Manifesto, and his entire life really, seething about non-Marxist socialists.
