LawTube - Lawyers sperging at each other on YouTube

What is the windchimes thing about anyway?
What waffle said:
One of the gun tuber type guys sells firearms parts kits and conspicuously mislabels them as windchimes to get around restrictions on gun parts.
It's a cutesy tee-hee kind of thing. I've actually never looked if they actually market them as such, or if Sean is just being coy in his adverts. The "wind chime" (generally) being the barrel.

I saw that Sean talked about having set up a dedicated model building side channel last weekend while painting Nazi soldier miniatures with Russian hand weapons.

I was a little confused because people in his chat were congratulating him on monetization when he only had 700 subs at the time. I thought a minimum of 1k was needed.
I think it's changed to watch hours and maybe a low level (500?) of subs. They payout is so shit these days, I don't think youtube cares if they monetize more people via social interaction.

It's a kind of parasocial thing I don't understand. If you like doing the model stuff as a hobby, why do the financial asspats matter? Especially if it's hurting your potentially much more lucrative operation.

I definitely didn't understand the wind chimes lore either.

I assumed it was some oblique reference to hanging commies from streetlamps.

Here's one "wind chime" kit on sale right now:

I get it's what they label them as and what have you, and youtube and payment processors are lame, but it is kinda cringe.

Do you mean LegalEagle?
Duh.
His grasp of the law is pretty bad, made worse by the fact that he has a massive left-wing bias which makes him outright mislead his audience. He's only 'personable' in the sense that he parrots left-wing talking points like 'Orange man bad' while wearing a suit.
That's what I was pointing out with "dose of current year politics." And people apparently do find him personable because he has 3.7 million followers.

I don't consider inflated or manipulated follower numbers a reliable marker for either actual reach, influence, or charisma. Again, if not for Youtube choosing him as their narrative weapon to boost in the algorithm he'd be hawking his suits to dozens of viewers.

I feel that there is no such thing as lawtube. The Rekieta collapse proved that it existed as a life support system for him to grift off of while they tried to grift off of him. Without Rekieta a ringmaster wannabe they're just a bunch of charisma free boredom farmers. A viewer might like individual ones but in no sense it is a real group ie "lawtube"

At the very least, it broke down into much smaller Venn diagram circles that are either completely isolated or barely overlapping.

It could be algorithm bias, but when creators like LegalBytes or Hoeg Law or Emily D. Baker distanced themselves from the Balldoverse, I simply never saw or heard from them again, even though some like Alyte & Emily seemed to be carrying on with their own independent online success in more closed communities.

I was posting about old Branca drama the other day. Whatever became of Natalie The Lawyer Chick? Has Faran Balanced got drunk and fired from her Lexington, KY anchor job yet?

Natalie the Lawyer Chick apparently left Twitter for BlueSky after Orange Man Bad won in November 2024. Looks like Branca's gut was right about this one.

Ron Coleman was the only Lawtuber to say goodbye on her farewell post.

Branca W again. Also, even though she's all worked up about Cheeto Hitler, DON'T YOU DARE ask her to lift a finger to do anything about it.

Six months later, her BlueSky reached 734 followers before she abandoned it as well.

At 152k subs, her YT is actually pretty comparable to many of the other Rekieta Lawtube orbiters.
Looks like she abandoned her YT as well for almost a year, but returned last month to make a few law-related videos amassing 20-30k views.

Edit2:

Faran no longer appears to be on Lexington, Kentucky local news on their ABC affiliate. The trail there for me went cold around April 2024 after her hiring was announced in Jan of the same year. At the network, she was going by Faran Foster.

Her new employ seems to be in Indianapolis, ID at WISH-TV. Faran the chameleon is now back to going by Faran Fronczak.

It's notable that her new WISH-TV bio mentions all her pre-Rekieta infamy work history in great detail, but makes no mention of her more recent weekend anchor work last year at ABC in Kentucky. The gap in her resume made me wonder if this Indianapolis anchor bio was contemporary or not until I confirmed it was up-to-date via a link to her current active Facebook.

This could suggest that her departure was acrimonious. Or perhaps this new station poached her and it's not the industry practice to acknowledge your competitors.

During my sleuthing, I found a Faran on TV clip channel (PreserveTube) that hasn't been updated since her Rekieta crashout.

If there is a "LawTube" any more, it is the ones who appeal to normies like Emily Baker and even (yuk) LegalBeagle.

He should also have tried the chinese deepseek ai, I often compare those two. Escpecially when I question the output from one AI.

Now, about the citations thing, can someone legally knowledgeable tell us about the importance of these?
Around 2h:50m in Karen Read day 5 he explains that.
In short, one of the metrics to compare their briefs was the likelihood of SCOTUS granting the cert. It's way more likely to happen if circuit split on the issue is already present,
According to Kurt ChatGPT wrongly concluded that the other guy had presented this Circuit Split issue, when he did that by citing case (Torres) that is completely beside this point.

Rare footage of a actual practicing lawyer. Feel bad for Sean as this was a no win scenario and on top of it think his client went full Rekieta and got yeeted from the room.

I only watched the first few minutes.

Why did they make the witness sit at the same table as Sean?

They said it was for camera/video reasons. But it seems pretty incredulous that the camera can't focus on the actual witness stand.

The camera we're watching from is not the one on the laptop.

The court is using a Zoom like product to include the Defendant since he's down in the jail. The laptops are supplied by the court for that purpose.

It's a preliminary hearing. You never really win them. That was the defendant's brother that got booted.

Hard to succeed in an argument to reduce bond when your client literally chimps out in the courtroom.
