I'm not someone who hates on Nintendo all that much but in all seriousness - why would you expect this from Nintendo? I get why you would expect it in theory but have the past few decades not given you enough reason to doubt that Big N can deliver this?
In my experience, performance issues in most switch 1 games was a non issue (except for echoes of wisdom, that was atrocious), even the lag in botw and totk didn't bother me, it was impressive that the switch 1 could even run those two games in the first place. But now they have a console that's advertised as having a 120hz screen, and is allegedly more powerful than the steam deck, yet their second game already pushes the system too hard. There's just been a lot of shit that turned out to be false advertising in regards to this system, and this is the cherry on top of the shit sundae.

Anything is better than that. What's SF?

Is this really its reputation now? Fucking hell :lossmanjack:

Yes. Can't be hard to let a smaller company do something with it. They let Crypt of the Necro Dancer make a fucking official Zelda fan game crossover, I think they can commission Inti Creates to mess around with some abandoned IPs.

This should be spoilered tbh

That is kinda inexcusable, if it was pretty far under 30.
Always has been, thanks furries.

I reached the final fight with k rool in the city, the game was running at a locked 60 up until I reached the second phase of the fight, the game hit N64 level of lag, it was unplayable for me. This game desperately needs a performance patch.
(Even if they do fix it, the experience has been ruined for me, I don't really see myself playing it again anytime soon)
It'll take a lot of complaining. The director admitted they knew about it, and put it in the Will Not Fix bucket.

Nintendo is really starting to replace EA as the Great Satan of the Gaming Industry

I mean, this is the first I've heard of anyone having extremely bad frame rate problems there. Most everyone else has nothing but good things to say about the last sections of the game.

I personally am definitely going to pick up Bananza once I get a Switch 2. It looks to be one of the best games of the year.

Though, would you say it is up there with the greats like the Donkey Kong Country games?

Well I loved Mario Odyssey, so that's a plus for me.

And I must say, it does have a lot of cool throwbacks to the original Country games. Including a pretty awesome remix of Stickerbush Symphony.

If that happened on an actual N64 game back in the day we were like, "The boss is so awesome, the system literally can't handle it."

Its funny you say that as Sean Malstrom (guy has been writing about them since the Wii) has been saying Nintendo wants to be EA for years
The reasons why you love Nintendo are the reason why Nintendo hates Nintendo. Nintendo doesn’t want to be seen as the ‘scrappy company’ who uses ‘older technology’. Nintendo wants to be EA. Nintendo desires industrialization. You don’t see innovation come from their games. You see their IPs rolled out like a factory assembly line with no soul generation after generation.
But yeah, Nintendo has gotten complacent which always lands them in trouble. I still think they are going to struggle outside Japan and it's going to be a constant battle to try and get the US and European markets to buy in.

Reading your article, the below part stood out to me as being especially bullshit:

The reason why software sold so well on the Switch, especially third party software, was because of the carts. People would opt to buy the Switch version of the game because there was a physical version. Now, does this represent all of the software? No. But it represents much of the ‘fringes’ such as the indie releases.

Thats absolutely not true. Often times you couldn't even find those games in physical stores. People brought 3rd party games on Switch so they could play them on the bus or because Switch was the only "console" they owned. I'm as pro-physical as you can get but lets not lie about why Switch 1 wasn't successful, its not because John Q. Public was going to Doesitrun, its because the Switch had a good formfactor. I'd also point out that him calling things like Nintendo's NES output (huge swaths of which were farmed out wholesale to UPTG/Rare and Tose on contract) not industrialized is the epitome of rose-tinted glasses.

edit 2:

Reading more of the guy's stuff, no, he's just a retard. Bitching about Nintendo doing the same thing twice as "industrialization of gaming" but then when he's talking about his own game that he's making its a blatant Final Fantasy 6 rip-off from the structure of the party right through to the structure of the plot. How is that not the very same thing he's complaining about himself?

When I see Donkey Kong Bonanza, I see nothing but ‘slop’. Everything about the game feels wrong especially tied to Donkey Kong. The production elements such as all the singing come across to me as damn annoying. You couldn’t pay me to play Donkey Kong Bonanza.

And then there's this..... opinions disregarded.

honestly this is a small whitepill but as dire as Western Civilization is right now, its one strength is that its literally always going to be a Bastion of consumer skepticism and that applies to the game industry as well, a Karen freaking out when McDonalds forgets one pickle on her burger is also indicative of the general mood as far as Gamers in the west go, people in America and Europe are far more willing to not buy a game and save the money in their wallet when it comes to something thats ostensibly targeted at them if they dont like something about it then Japan or other asian countries, in Japan (and East Asia generally speaking) you are shamed for not forking over your money to Mr. CEO if his company makes a game or service targeted at your demographic and you dont buy it for whatever reason, its the toxic Asian business culture that we did this for you therefore you dont (or rather shouldn't) have a choice in participating in an economic exchange, I can almost guarantee theres at least some seething during meetings at Nintendo Headquarters in Kyoto because westerners (and especially Americans) won't buy their shit and often tell them to fuck off when they make a choice gamers don't like
