I mean. You’re not wrong. The DKC games had great graphics and music, but bland gameplay, the N64 games were all awful and even their music wasn’t very good(Grant Kirkhope can only write one melody and repeat it over and over and is dramatically worse at composing than David Wise was), and Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Kameo were forgettable.
Conker is only notable for having tits and swearing, but the game humor is just constant references to them popular movies and the voice acting is utterly garbage.
The NES era rare is also bad with Nightmare on Elmstreet unironically being probably their best game on the platform. Not a good game, but their best. And don’t even get me started on the crappy British computer era. I’ll flat out say it, any person who unironically played games on those old British computers will never understand what makes a game good. 100% of those titles are awful.

Rare is unique in that they’re only praised because of their work with Nintendo, but at no point were they actually a good developer
