His game will fail as it has to abide by Steam TOS which, just like Youtube means your content has to be very sanitized. No racism, no hate speech, no violence, no jokes, nothing that is controversial and could make steam look bad as in nothing that would actually sell with these types of games.
Even during sex the characters need to gasp between the moans on how they hope they filed the W-8BEN tax form properly to make it painfully obvious to Gabe that they're over 18 and it's not just implied. A simple ass spanking can be interpreted as violence and get your game banned.
TLDR Steam lets you make an adult game as long as grandma doesn't get upset while playing. Which is why every single adult game on steam is shovelware and barely gives the developer a return on investment. No one is interested in them when you can go watch real porn for free.
My thoughts on this is that he believed it will cause some major controversy, either by trannies freaking out about it or some anti porn crusaders kicking a fuss and he can ride that wave to fame like The Coffin Of Ley Ley, Subverse or Stellarblade. But none of that happened and really, nobody cared or will care since every day hundreds if not thousands of such games are released on steam and his will just be another one to the pile of trash.
So if his "game" ever does come out and that's a big IF (due to him not seeming to have much interest in it or even promoting it) then it will be just another "game" made for the sake of making a "game" with less people playing it than Concord. But at least he can larp about being a game dev and talk about "the industry" as an "insider" rofl.
