Holy shit reading this thread has been an absolute wild ride, I never would have expected the people behind a seemingly innocent site like TCRF to be this dirty. I used to read it often but stopped some years ago because the site seemed dead (A lot of Nintendo gigaleak stuff was never put on the site other than todo lists that just got longer and longer). Having to dig through Discord servers to find the new cut content being leaked just made me kinda lose interest in the whole thing. I used to be pretty active in a lot of these cut content communities (even used to moderate some) and the drama always came from these same types of "people". So many projects (mods, romhacks, wikis, fan games) die because these types drive everyone else away until there is no one left to actually contribute.

I've been careful not to click on any referral links to TCRF from here yesterday and I can confirm that I didn't get banned when I went to check just now. I went all the way back to page 11 or something of this thread, clicked on a link to a random user page, and the site loaded normally for me. Any public addresses and VPNs that haven't been put on the ban list (whether intentionally or not) should be working then, I believe.

But you are a retard if you still use ZSNES in 2025, almost 20 years after its last update. SNES9X is just as old but is still updated and can play games fine that ZSNES can't (Earthworm Jim 2, Star Ocean, Mario RPG, etc.).

The purpose of emulators is to play games and run them well enough they can substitute for owning actual hardware. ZSNES was fine 20 years ago because it worked out of the box and didn't require as much tinkering when compared to SNES9X and its infamous audio stutters or the unneeded autism required for BSNES. But to use ZSNES in the present day is just either being out of touch or having no standards.

im pretty sure zsnes can play super mario rpg, because i played super mario rpg on it like twenty years ago. i played the leaked starfox 2 rom on that emulator. if you're not okay with people using a 20 year old feature complete emulator for 40 year old computer system then accuracy to the degree that you're pursuing is obviously a sisyphean task

I think the biggest point for me is that micro/macro is size difference related powerplay taken to it's logical extreme. Suddenly, depending on which role you're taking, you're either at the whims of a creature far, far larger than you who has to be extra careful as to not hurt you, or in control of a creature that fits in the palm of your hand, which is a fun aspect to consider whichever way you look at it.
If you're like me (someone who already likes height/size difference), then the idea of that being taken all the way to I can fit in the palm of your hand or your footpaw can cover most of my small body or kissing is a full face activity for me is just... woughh. It's the reason so many folks like the idea of taming a dragon- you're putting your trust in something far stronger than you by pure virtue of how much bigger they are.
And I think that's the other thing that makes powerplay as a whole to me quite appealing, it's an exercise in vulnerability and trust. You free yourself of certain choices when someone else is in control, and I think there's a degree of intimacy that comes with that, however that intimacy may present itself.
