Is he going to do a crossover video with that man or what?Fantano just met Rick Beato, and I’m still struggling to figure out what this phenotype is:

If he did, I’m pretty certain most of Fantano’s chat would try to somehow say that he’s more superior than Beato when it comes to music criticism. I just can’t see it being a good video that makes Fantano look not like an amateur in comparison. Is he going to do a crossover video with that man or what?

He's already done one on Beato's channel. It's actually good, mostly a serious discussion of recent changes in the music industry and production. Beato is an uber-Boomer in his musical tastes and a bit of a self-obsessed lolcow and course shill, but definitely knows both music theory and traditional production, and avoids internet drama and politics, and as such is worth listening to, particularly his interviews, which he is far better at doing than most traditional music journalists, as he's able to open up guys who are usually pretty hostile to inquiry or not very well-spoken.Is he going to do a crossover video with that man or what?

I think because he thinks that he reviews music on a 'technical level' (production, sound, instrumentals, etcetera) that makes him somehow more objective. I recall him getting backlash semi-recently for his review of Halsey's 'The Great Impersonator' because he complained about her singing about cancer (which she was diagnosed with) and then giving it a 1. He'll only acknowledge how the emotional/personal aspects of a song or album give it strength if it's done in the service of pushing a social/political message he agrees with, if the artist is black, he likes the song personally, or some combination of all three — that's it. Before he completely fell into the rabbit hole of politics, I first became incredulous about his actual taste when he made ANOHNI's "Drone bomb me" his 2nd best song of the year. Shit song, but the singer's a tranny, so it tracks. The thing that I think makes him an awful reviewer, aside from the forced politics into a medium that is entirely subjective and many artists make music for various reasons, is his constant lack of emotional depth into any album he reviews. It was a long night one day, when me and my friends were hanging out and one of them says "Fantano dropped a review on your favorite artist" and I was already upset because I was listening to Death Grips for years and then he made it into a tourist space for all these fucking awful normies. However, the album he reviewed that night was "Resistance & The Blessing" by World's End Girlfriend, anyone with any appreciation for experimental music or indie works can tell this album comes from a lot of work and artistic expression and there's a lot of emotions all through it. Regardless, fagtano just dismisses it saying "it's just a bunch of noise and random things" which still I cannot understand how someone can listen to a lot of the tracks in the album (mainly the vocal ones, like "Eve" or "Blue - 0 - +9") and think "yeah it's pretentious" ? No wonder this guy is a raging divorced loser, he has no feelings and never will, what a fucking moron.
(also kek on him hating the track "IN THE NAME OF LOVE" because of course, not to say when watching the review it feels like he has a specific hatred for it, I wonder why)
Listening to the opening track right now. YO. ah well, yes it is a very experimental album and it's not for new WEG fans, if you wish to start listening to WEG I recommend "The Lie Lay Land" first or "LAST WALTZ" for a starter, thing is "Resistance & The Blessing" is an album that references many of his previous works, mainly "Hurtbreak Wonderland" and "The Lie Lay Land", from what I remember the album is about a loving couple who after death reunite again in a different life and so on, which is why the song "THE POWER OF LOVE" is also great from context not just the song itself. If you still wish to experience this album and you're not familiar with post-rock experimental and noise, then you can listen to the song "Himitsu" "SEE YOU AGAIN" and most of the vocal tracks, I'm very glad you gave the album a try by the way, thank you.Listening to the opening track right now. Oh no, I am just gonna jump cold feet into that album first and then try the others. Japanese producers are very cool, I love Nujabes, his protégés Uyama and Haruka Nakamura and Force of Nature, tho of course they operate on very different genres from WEG.ah well, yes it is a very experimental album and it's not for new WEG fans, if you wish to start listening to WEG I recommend "The Lie Lay Land" first or "LAST WALTZ" for a starter, thing is "Resistance & The Blessing" is an album that references many of his previous works, mainly "Hurtbreak Wonderland" and "The Lie Lay Land", from what I remember the album is about a loving couple who after death reunite again in a different life and so on, which is why the song "THE POWER OF LOVE" is also great from context not just the song itself. Oh yeah totally, I am familiar with Nujabes, I recommend also checking "Shinsei Kamattechan" and "HASAMI Group" if you like more alternative japanese music. Also you can message me privately if you need more obscure or hard to find albums, you're welcome.Oh no, I am just gonna jump cold feet into that album first and then try the others. Fantano has no right to call anything pretentious. He drools over vapid goyslop like Charli XCX because it’s been approved in that sphere of the internet to like. He gave BRAT, which, from what I’ve heard of it, is just Charli XCX aping Crystal Castles (and I love Crystal Castles) and turning that type of music into hollow alt-pop. It’s entirely about the online discourse around the music and not the music itself.Regardless, fagtano just dismisses it saying "it's just a bunch of noise and random things" which still I cannot understand how someone can listen to a lot of the tracks in the album (mainly the vocal ones, like "Eve" or "Blue - 0 - +9") and think "yeah it's pretentious" ?
I actually been listening to XiuXiu, some tracks are so good to me but It's okay if it's not for you, I think the shaky voice sometimes adds a lot to some tracks. However I did see that clearly, fagtano has some personal hatred for anime/videogame music as he kept referencing that in the WEG review, what a shallow massive faggot honestly, good videogame music is made with a very clear vision and intent which is why even to this day everyone has a few videogame tracks they genuinely enjoy, even normies do. Same thing goes for anime and really any music piece that adds to a story, there's a clear intent in what it's trying to show, either a specific character's views or a point in the story, he seems to hate anything that resembles more traditional or classical way of making music, with a clear narrative or being part of something else.Fantano has no right to call anything pretentious. I haven’t kept up with his takes in ages but one of the last things I remember seeing from his was him giving Xiu Xiu’s Girl With A Basket of Fruit a 9/10. I tried listening to it and found that not only did I hate that album, but I fucking hate Xiu Xiu. I normally like that type of music but Jamie Stewart sounds like a whiny shaky voiced faggot and ruins everything.
I remember hearing Xiu Xiu and knowing the movie that the band was referencing, I thought it'd be some dark, depressing music... but it's just some homo whining over his gayness set to some boring music. No wonder Fagtano loves the band.I haven’t kept up with his takes in ages but one of the last things I remember seeing from his was him giving Xiu Xiu’s Girl With A Basket of Fruit a 9/10.
