The funny thing is about that plagiarism video is, by his own standards, he probably didn't write letters to media companies asking them to use their content or asked IH if he could use his. He just yanked it. Because if we're being serious, even playing news segments can land you in hot shit without permission. You have to buy music licenses if you want to use copyrighted music, and even for people making reviews on films, they're not writing to film companies to ask permission. Everyone just does it and hopes a transformative claim will protect them.

People were willing to overlook him running over for a trans rapist friend of his. They're still willing to go after IH because they dislike him.

That's the thing with fair use, everyone loves fair use until someone they dislike uses it. IH would know because his content has always been treading the line of fair use since they heavily feature news segments. There is a reason why we can't see his Kurt Eichenwald video anymore, the Fox footage likely would end up with a cease and desist just by being featured in his video as is.

Unfortunately for HBG, trying to argue what's fair use and what isn't would end up making himself look just as guilty as IH is. Maybe not 'I took this random article that I thought was funny' guilty, but him trying to talk about fair use in a plagarism video (which just makes the copyright strike of the original look more like false flagging rather than justifiable) wouldn't appeal to his terminally online fanbase, so he then proceeds to screech about trolls remorse, which is somehow even more ironic considering HBG's past.

Looking into the article that IH referenced, it wasn't even original research, either. It was a slapped together article from an Israeli media company IIRC, and the original researcher who published the data was not mentioned in that article. So IH snagged an article that plagiarized a researcher, with no credit. IH did have a genuine fuck up, but HBG never rushed to the defense of the person who did the hard work and was taken for a ride by that media company, because his ire was never towards actual plagiarism but against those he felt needed to be off the Internet. He did it with that faggot - who did, in fact, rip off smaller blogs without referencing them - but IH he couldn't get rid of. That's what he hates in the end.

The one I know about is he showed up for no fucking reason in the Civvie11 Half-Life 2 video around Christmas time. I posted about this in his thread (https://kiwifarms.st/threads/civvie-11.70275/page-01) but when the video came on I legit thought I had misclicked catastrophically when that lumpy bald homunculus appeared. Furthermore, the video sucked.

can't find it now but I had Matt McMuscles auto playing on Youtube and got jumpscared by Harris' bald head. Matt's videos were mediocre anyways. I want to say it was an intro joke that was somewhat recent.

Pitiful but unsurprising. I do tend to like Matt's videos, but he's a Canadian, so I can't act shocked he'd give a hideous creature like Hbomber a platform.

It's pretty simple, these youtubers have rough controversies in their pasts and they're terrified that they will be included in a type of Tommy Tallarico/Plagiarism video so they proactively reach out to him to try and get on his good side. Especially since he's demonstrated with that gay guy that having the right politics won't necessarily save them. Guarantee you if you go sniffing around Matt/whoever's channels you'll probably find the reason why they're trying to suck up to him.
