Likely either khat or betel nut, either one of which will destroy your teeth. IIRC betel nut is a mild stimulant and in India, is usually combined with tobacco and stains your teeth red over time. Believe they call it 'paan' out there, seems like very few people in the U.S know of it. Also popular in Vietnam apparently. Mersh is more of a gas station drug connoisseur it seems.
